GF10k started as Becky Hall’s project to raise $10,000 for multiple sclerosis during her freshman year at the University of Wisconsin- Madison. Doctors diagnosed Becky’s mom with MS in the summer of 2000. In January 2010, she lost Charlie Siewert, a close family friend, to the disease. Shortly before he passed away, Charlie’s wife Peggy challenged Becky to raise $10,000. She accepted the challenge.
